Microneedling creates tiny punctures or columns in the skin with “micro” needles that induce collagen production. What sets Vivace Ultra^™ apart is the face that it uses ultrasound technology to map the skin before RF microneedling, allowing our plastic surgeon to customize treatment to your unique skin concerns. Dr. Miller uses these images to determine the ideal depth for the microneedles, removing guesswork from the treatment and improving outcomes.

He begins the Vivace Ultra^™ treatment by numbing your skin with a cream that takes 30 to 45 minutes to take effect. Once you’re numb, you may feel light pressure, though most patients find the treatment comfortable with little to no discomfort. Depending on the face or body area, the device takes 45mins to 2 hours for two passes. We apply a sheet mask containing peptides, anti-inflammatory agents, and antioxidants to soothe the skin. A serum with the same ingredients locks in moisture and calms redness and swelling.

Dr. Miller typically recommends three or four Vivace Ultra^™ treatments with sessions every four to six weeks.

You should avoid exercise that increases your heart rate for 48 hours, stay out of direct sunlight for 10 days, and avoid using exfoliating or retinol products for one week before and after microneedling.

Dr. Miller will give you the Boost Serum by Vivace® for at-home application daily for the first week to decrease redness and tightness. Your face will feel tight, with less pronounced wrinkles and a youthful, dewy glow. Some women don’t need to wear makeup while their skin heals because red and brown spots are gone or vastly improved.
